** Using the Sandwich Technique
By Adrian Newman, Founder of e-Wealth Daily

Recently, I had to relay some bad news to a copywriter. He was
creating a new project for me and his first draft, while
brimming with great copy, was lacking in a lot of other
elements.

I had to let him know my dissatisfaction and criticisms, but
didn't want to rub him the wrong way. As you may or may not
know, writers can be a sensitive bunch.

But I still wanted to get my point across, so I utilized what I
like to call "the sandwich technique."

Basically, I started the e-mail I wrote him with praise and
gratification, stating how his writing style is second-to-none
and how I really appreciated the time he spent crafting his
letter.

Then I slowly brought in my criticisms and concerns. I didn't
hold back because I know that, if I did, we'd get nowhere in
progressing with the project. I wasn't heavy-handed, but I was
firm and direct and offered insight and assistance where I
could.

I finished off the letter thanking him again for his time and
effort, rehashed all the good points of his work, and painted a
picture of how great it's going to be once this project is
completed.

The reason I call this the sandwich technique is that I
sandwiched my criticism between comments of praise.

No one likes to hear bad news when it comes to their work and
efforts. And, in turn, no one likes to be the bearer of bad news,
especially in a business relationship that you want to be
ongoing.

That's why the sandwich technique can be effective with not
only getting your point across, but also with buffering the
harshness of your comments.

Some people like to sugar-coat their complaints. Others prefer
not to make constructive comments at all for fear of ruffling
feathers. This gets you nowhere, as: A) the counterpart will
never know they did something you didn't approve of; and B) it
doesn't give the counterpart a chance to either defend
themselves or justify their actions.

So the next time something like this happens to you, whether
it's a business or personal relationship, try the sandwich
technique and let me know how it works for you.

** How to Turn Negativity on Its Head

By Doug D'Anna, the "Hundred-Million-Dollar Man"

Let's face it; we've all had our ups and downs, our bad days,
failures, upsets, and disappointments — usually we bounce
back, wanting to correct the negative with the positive. But
what happens when you can't bounce back? The negative
feelings of today can become the negative thoughts of
tomorrow, which can develop into a destructive negative
attitude — and a negative attitude will likely put an end to your
dream of wealth and success.

Money has a way of instantly brightening your day. Have you
ever found a $5 or $10 bill on the street? Remember how great
it made you feel? You didn't know why, but it just did. For that
one second, you felt that all your money problems could
instantly disappear; but as usual, your negative thoughts
probably returned.

Day by day, the dream of becoming a millionaire begins to
fade away, and you begin to blame everyo! ne else, the world,
and even God for all your money problems.

Stop. This is a sign that negativity has its grip on you, and it
won't let go until you decide to wrestle yourself free. A
handout of money, a loan, even a small cash windfall cannot
change a negative attitude; it will just disguise it. If you are
seeking wealth, a negative attitude will push you further and
further away from your dream. So, if you want to be rich,
successful, and fulfilled, then you first need to know that
negativity does not recognize any of those attainable desires.

Breaking negativity is much like quitting a bad habit. If you
don't have the discipline, determination and willpower to just
say "no," then you will continue to fall off the wagon.
However, falling off the wagon from time to time is not so bad
because bad habits can take multiple attempts to break. The
good news is that it is possible to turn negativity on its head, so
you can step into the future clearheaded, optimistic, and ready
to take action.

To go from negative to positive, or from pessimist to optimist,
can take as little as a few seconds or as much as a few years.
Inspirational speakers on late-night TV may tell you that they
can help you to change your life for the better within days. I
say otherwise: Your mind is so complex that no timeline — or
price — can alter its condition. You can deflate negativity
within the span of a single evening's sleep. Anything is
possible!

That's right; anything is possible. We really don't know for
sure how much control we have over our own lives, but we can
control the thoughts that shape what we do, what we think, and
how we behave. You weren't born negative; you developed
negativity over time. And now is the time to reverse this
negative spell over your life by shifting your focus toward !
believing that "anything is possible."

For example, that $5 bill you found on the street could buy you
a lottery ticket that may end up making you a millionaire. Or,
you could be at the diner, reading over your business plan,
when the guy next to you notices what you're doing and
becomes interested in investing in your idea. Anything
becomes possible when you shed your negative outer skin.

For starters, the "right" people will take notice of you because
you won't have "I feel like a loser" branded on your forehead.
Positive people shine in everything that they do, even if they
have little money in their bank account or are steeped in debt.
These positive people see the glass as half full, not half empty;
they see tough times as merely being the halfway point to
success.

Do you consider yourself unlucky? Well, here's something to
take with you on your journey to hit negativity out of the bal lpark: Luck finds you — not the other way around. If you
want to make yourself attractive to luck, you have to put
yourself in a place where it can find you. That place, my friend,
is positivity.

** How to Develop Razor Sharp Focus
By John Hurd, Chief Wealth Researcher

Procrastination is a trap that lies around every corner and is
baited with television shows to watch, phone calls to make and
walls to be stared at. Everyone knows when they've fallen into
a lazy trap, but getting out of one can be challenging.

It takes a lot of willpower and a little elbow grease to get things
back on track.

For example, a colleague of mine had a pressing deadline for a
project and told me that, no matter what he tried, he couldn't
seem to buckle down and get things taken care of.

As soon as he sat down to his desk, he'd have to take an
important call or would find himself with other, smaller
projects that required less effort and could be done quicker.

His problem was solved with one simple solution. He found
another place where he could isolate himself and focus on just
that one important task. He did this by booking a study room at
a local library to work in, and he eventually achieved the focus
he needed.

Now, not every project requires isolation, so here are three
ways I suggest for you to free yourself from the lazy trap:

  1. Set deadlines for everything. Going to get groceries? Set an
arrival and departure time. Making dinner? Set a time frame for
preparation and completion of dinner. Once you make setting
deadlines a habit for everything, you won't be as intimidated by
the deadlines for the big stuff.

  2. Give yourself no choice. This involves a little risk, but when
you absolutely have to do something or face embarrassment by
letting someone down, you'll have the incentive to finish what
you've started. Anyone can let themselves down, but it's much
harder when you're disappointing someone else.

  3. Remove distractions. Turn off your phone, get away from
the Internet and lock yourself in a room. Some things you
simply can't get away from, but more often than not, you can
    do without them.

Whether you're working on your next big moneymaking idea
or simply trying to finish a project you started long ago, you're
going to need focus to get the job done. Finding the focus-
building technique that works for you will put you one giant
step closer to achieving success.

** My Five Personal Tips for Creating More Time
By Michael Newman, Self-made Millionaire

No matter how you try to divide it up, you'll always end up
with 24 hours in a day and 365 days in a year. Every once in a
while, February will sneak another day in there for us, but
other than that, if you're looking for more time, you're out of
luck.

When you're in business for yourself, those limitations can
make it quite difficult to complete all the tasks you need to
achieve the success you desire. I remember when I was getting
started, it would always seem like the days were about three to
five hours too short.

After reluctantly accepting the fact that I had no power over the
amount of time I was allotted each day, I came up with ways to
work more efficiently so that I could get more accomplished in
less time. Here is what I did:

  • Planned in advance: Knowing what you want to do tomorrow today is a great way to make more efficient use of your time. By developing a plan for your workday the night before, you can move seamlessly from task to task without taking the time to scratch your head, asking, "What should I do next?" To maximize the effect of this strategy, write your plans down. Keeping them in your head will take up valuable space!
  • Got my rest: Without sufficient sleep, your body and mind
cannot perform at optimal levels. Be sure to schedule as much
sleep as you need every night so that, when you get up, you are
    fresh and ready to produce.

  • Took a break: After you've been working on something for a
few hours, you can get trapped in a box. Usually, it's one of
two boxes: boredom or tunnel-vision. If you take a break, you
can recharge yourself and come back with a fresh perspective.

  • Focused on my bread and butter: There is a good chance that a high percentage of your business comes from a select number of customers. Find out where the bulk of your revenue is coming from, and change the focus of your business to them.

  • Didn't procrastinate: Get things done. If you find you're
always finding little things to do instead of focusing on the
more important tasks, you're procrastinating. Choose the least
resistant path to performance and results.

Try these tactics and hopefully they will give you the winning
combination of increased output in less time
