Unique Ways to Get the Word Out... From Setbacks…to
Getting Back Your Life... More Ways of Finding the Big

** Unique Ways to
Get the Word Out
By Adrian Newman, Founder of e-Wealth Daily
Small-business owners should constantly be on the lookout for
ways to advertise their operation. Marketing strategies are
essential to the development and success of any business, so
you need to make room in your budget for it.
However, when you're starting out, you might not have a huge
budget set aside for advertising. You might not be able to put
your name on the side of the cross-town bus or a huge billboard
downtown, for example. If you have a small advertising
budget, then you're going to have to find ways to get your
name out in an inexpensive manner.
If you want your message to reach a lot of people, then you'll
want to consider enlisting the help of your family and friends.
Next time you're at an intersection waiting for the light to turn
green, take a look around you. I have no doubt that you will
notice a vehicle or two with a decal on it. If you have a vehicle
and know other people who do, why not advertise with them?
Vehicle wraps and decals are a great way to get your business'
message all over town without spending a lot of money. Your
vehicle is a great moving billboard for sure — and a nice start — but if you have a few close friends you can enlist the help of your spouse, or even your kids, then you can get them in on the advertising effort as well.
It doesn't have to be a full wrap, either. You can get a small
decal with your company name and phone number put on the
back window or the side of the car, which will still be effective.
Most decals can be removed and even reused on other vehicles, so it's not going to do any paint damage and it won't be permanent.
I always notice what people have on their cars. Sure, it might
not always be something that I need, but I always notice, and I
wager that I'm not the only one, either.
Now, even though your buddy offers his vehicle to be adorned,
it doesn't mean that you have to take him up on the offer. For
instance, if your friend has a pick-up truck that is missing the
tailgate, and has more rust than paint, then you might want to
pass. Remember you have to constantly think about your brand
image and how you want consumers to perceive your business.
If you don't have a lot of money to advertise, consider getting a
decal on your vehicle and a few others around town. It's a great
way to get word of your business out to a lot of people. Just
make sure that you make the most of this type of advertising.
Be certain that you have the correct information included in the
decal, such as your business' location and phone number, and
make sure that people can easily read it. No matter what the
advertisement, if the information isn't clear, then it's a waste of
your money.
** From Setbacks…to Getting Back Your Life
By Doug D'Anna, the "Hundred-Million-Dollar Man"
Sometimes the best time to establish a new set of goals is when
you have experienced a setback. It is a time when you can
renew your spirit and set out on a new course of positive
action.
But how do you make the transition?
A lot of people tell me that they have a difficult time accepting
setbacks…letting go of things that have happened, never mind
putting an entirely new set of objectives in front of themselves.
Over time, they say, their self-esteem has been shattered and
they are not sure that they have the motivation it takes to
become successful at this point in their lives. Some people
truly get lost in the ups and downs of life.
If you do, please remember my words on this: show me
someone who’s never made a mistake and I’ll show you
someone that’s never done anything.
While the term “successful mistakes” sounds like an
oxymoron, if you consider that seeds of success are planted in
our slipups, you can achieve pretty well anything.
Mistakes remind us that we are human and encourage us to
step out on a limb and try something different.
Don’t let your internal or external critics pounce on you. Think
of your mistakes as your opportunity to sharpen your knife and
create more success in your life. They should be so lucky!
** More Ways of Finding the Big Idea
By Michael Newman, the "Money Finder"
Yesterday I told you about how satisfying one big requirement
could help you determine the success potential of your
breakthrough idea. Without it, you drastically lower your
chances of your idea becoming a huge success.
To recap, that one requirement is this: your idea must solve a
very specific problem.
Now, when you’re looking for new and exciting ways to make
money, you may begin to worry that you can’t come up with a
great idea. What I want you to know is that you don’t have to
worry; big ideas are around you almost every day. It just takes
some creativity to uncover them.
You can start searching for your big idea by considering your
own personal needs. What would make your day-to-day life
easier? What do you need to get things done faster, with less
effort or to get them out of the way once and for all?
Your big idea doesn’t have to be an invention; it could be a
service missing from your community or a new way to access
information you want to know about.
You’ve probably heard the old saying “Necessity is the mother
of all invention.” And you may find that what you need most
could be exactly what you’re going to think up.
Now, maybe you’re pretty comfortable and can’t really see
what would make your life a bit better. Then take one step
further and consider the needs of your friends and family.
You could uncover a way to help your elderly relatives get
more things accomplished in a day. It could even be something
small that saves just a few minutes.
To go another step further you can also consider the needs of
your community. Scan the newspaper for important topics in
your local news. These could be a great source for inspiration.
Many local success stories can be traced back to a strong
connection with the community they started in. So get to know
your neighbourhood and your city. There’s probably a lot to
uncover.
You are going to want to stick to what you know or what you
can learn about in the beginning. You may be following huge
national issues and hot topics and start coming up with ideas
that could help. Remember, though, you can’t solve everyone’s
problem, so start small and build your way to the top because
big ideas have a tendency to expand.
