Are You Addicted?... Managing Quick Success Effectively...
Tap Into Profits with an Unavoidable Truth... How to Step
Forward as the Leader You are Meant to Be... and More.
** Are You Addicted?
By Adrian Newman, Founder of e-Wealth Daily
All it takes is the first time, and then you're hooked.
That's it, just once. What I'm talking about is a powerful
addiction that many people simply can't fight. It takes over a
large part of your life and forever changes you. Even the
people around you change, never to go back to the way things
were.
What I'm talking about is becoming an entrepreneur. Sure, it
sounds more like a career choice than an addiction, but trust
me, it's a decision that will change your life.
Recently, I was looking into the history of some local
entrepreneurs. Some had found success, while others were still
hoping that their big ideas would pan out. However, there was
something many of them had in common. Almost all of them
pursued idea after idea, leaving a trail of successes and failures
in their wake.
There's no "once bitten, twice shy" for these entrepreneurs.
And that's something I want you to remember. You see, your
first idea may not pan out. There are no guarantees for success,
especially when it comes to business, and a failure isn't the end
of the world.
A business that doesn't make money may not help stuff your
wallet, but it will fill you with knowledge and experience.
You've already jumped into the pool; now it's time to start
exploring every corner.
Perseverance is as much a part of achieving business success as
planning and strategizing. Stick with it and keep working
towards your goals. You may have to switch rails from time to
time, because the journey is as exciting as the destination.
** Managing Quick Success Effectively
By Doug D'Anna, the "Hundred-Million-Dollar Man"
Sudden success can be a great thing, but it can also come with
a number of complications and problems. So, what can you do
if you find yourself overwhelmed with sudden success?
The problem is that if you don't properly deal with this sudden
success, you might not have much of a future. You have to be
able to keep up with the demand in an effective manner or you
could end up being a fad business and stuck wondering what
happened.
You want to make sure that you don't end up getting
overwhelmed. If you're feeling that the demand and the work
are simply too much to handle, then step back for a moment.
Remember, having a business of your own comes with the
bonus of being the boss and being able to make all the
decisions.
If you need to take a weekend off, then do so. If you need to
shut down business early one day, then do so. It is your choice
to make; just be certain that you're not inconveniencing any
customers in the process. The fact is that, if you're
overwhelmed, you will end up providing poor customer service
anyway, so you might as well take the time to regroup and get
yourself prepared to deal with the large volume of business.
Along with stepping back, you have to remain calm. This is a
good thing, so don't worry. You are obviously someone who
has a mind for business, so use that mind to devise a plan.
Calm and rational thinking must prevail if you want to make
smart decisions.
For instance, someone who has experienced quick success
might immediately think that they need to hire on 20
employees and expand the business internationally. Well,
though this could be a good idea in the future, it might be a
drastic move. You have to figure out how long this success
might last and then a way to gradually work with that success.
If it appears as though this is more than just a passing period of
high demand, then you will want to think about getting
yourself some help.
When you start working 18 hours a day, seven days a week,
you risk burnout. Putting in hard work is not the problem;
working too hard is, though. There is a fine line that you must
draw for yourself.
When you start getting tired and burning out, you start to make
mistakes. You miss important things and that is a lot worse
than recognizing the burnout and taking some time off. Start
off by turning to family members and friends to lend you a
hand. Even if it's just for an afternoon so you can tend to things
you have been putting off personally. Or you might need them
to help you out with administrative functions while you deal
with the critical tasks.
It does cost money to hire someone, so, in the beginning, you
may only want this person for a few hours a day or a few days
a week. Consider looking to students for the help you need.
You might even be able to arrange for an unpaid internship if
your business is relevant to a college program.
Some businesses just strike a chord with people. Whether it is
due to a product with perfect timing or a service that fills a
huge need. What you have to keep in mind above all else is that
you will be able to adjust if you remain calm and plan for every
day.
Be sure never to neglect your customers, no matter how much
work you might have to do. If you start to lose the loyalty of
your customers, then you will find yourself with too much time
on your hands and a failed business. Being busy is a good
thing, so embrace it by managing your stress and your day.
** Tap Into Profits with an Unavoidable Truth
By John Hurd, Chief Wealth Researcher
Whether we want to admit it or not, we're all getting older.
Wait one second though, because getting older isn't as bad as
we've been led to believe. Here's why.
I'm willing to bet you've seen a lot in your life. You've
witnessed events that have made the history books. You've
seen products come and go, all claiming they will change the
world...and it's true that some of them certainly have.
Now, the question is, what are you going to do with the one
thing you've got going for you? Something that all those young
kids in colleges with their noses buried in books simply don't
have.
What are you going to do with all of the life experience you've
got stacked up under your hat? It's no good to you -- or anyone
for that matter -- if you just leave it there out of sight.
You've got to get out there, share your experience and find the
people who are going to listen.
I'm almost certain you've seen changes happening around you
and something has sprung up in your mind. A thought or two
that could help improve your conditions and make life a little
easier for everyone around you.
I know of inventors and businessmen who are more successful
now, in their ''old age,'' because they have life experience under
their belts, and they're not afraid to use it.
Today, I encourage you to put your ideas down on paper and
start really considering their earning potential. It's time for you
to unleash your true potential and show those young guys
who's the boss.
In fact, you could even profit from your experience by selling
your knowledge to the younger generation that is hungry for
what they can't learn in books alone.
The school season is now in full swing and that means there are
hundreds of thousands of students out there that could become
your paying customers.
Getting started could be a simple as tutoring students if you
have some sort of educational background.
Other fields to consider are offering your services as a mentor
or by giving lectures about your personal experiences. You'll
be shocked to learn just how many people want to listen to you
and absorb everything they can from your words.
Now is the best time to start cashing in on your life experience,
so evaluate what you know and get out there and find the
people who want to learn from you.
** How to Step Forward as the Leader You are Meant to Be
By Michael Newman, Self-made Millionaire
Whether you run a business where you're in charge of a
number of employees or you're doing it all on your own, you'll
need to possess strong leadership qualities. Strong leadership
qualities ensure people listen to you, follow your lead and
respect you, while giving you the ability to remain driven and
focused on your goals.
When you're running an organization with people working
under you, being a leader is of the utmost importance. If you're
not, your employees and colleagues will see through you and
won't give you 100%. This is because when the rough spots
arise (and they always do), they'll be relying on you to direct
them through the storm with confidence and vigor. If they see
you staying in a reactionary state of mind, waiting for them to
step up and take action, then you can likely bank on the fact
they won't be with you for very long.
Becoming a good leader requires a number of skills that are
easy to learn, provided you put the work in.
One of the most important traits of a good leader is having
confidence and making sure the people around you see it, too. This requires learning as much as you possibly can about the
industry within which you work so that you've got the ability to
make well-rounded and educated decisions.
In addition to having the confidence to lead, you'll want to
ensure you maintain a good relationship with those who work
for you, and those with whom you conduct business. This
means you should listen to them, value their ideas and discuss
possible opportunities and thoughts with them. You don't
necessarily want to take on a dictatorial or "holier-than-thou" approach, because it will isolate others and make you seem like
a bad leader. In the end, you'll lose their respect.
Finally, as the leader, you'll have to step up and give the extra
effort when it's required. You have to be ready to take the bull
by the horns and be assertive when tough decisions need to be
made and when the going gets tough.
The best way to lead is by example; so, by always putting your
best foot forward, giving 100%, you encourage the people
around you to stay motivated and do good work for you.
